Bachelor of Community Psychology
Duration of Program: 3 Years
The program is designed to introduce basic psychological concepts and make students appreciate its application in the community. This will facilitate the absorption of community psychology graduates into the workforce. The Bachelor of Community Psychology complements community-oriented programs and attempts to meet the growing mental health needs in Uganda. The problem facing our societies include drug and alcohol abuse, child abuse, marital problems, AIDS, growing numbers of orphans and refugees, homosexuality, defilement, war, abduction, and others.Students graduating from this program will be well prepared for entry into the professional mental health postgraduate program such as the Master’s in Counseling and Master’s in Clinical Psychology, as well as other specialized community oriented training programs offered in various organizations.
Bachelor Of Industrial And Organisational Psychology
Duration of Program: 3 Years
The Bachelors of Industrial/Organisational Psychology (I/O) was proposed to respond to the growing demand for Psychologists in this applied area in the Country. The field of I/O Psychology is about the application of the methods, principles and theory of the science of behaviour and mental processes of people at work. Therefore, students who opt for specialized training in I/O Psychology as an applied area can do so right from their first year of study. This allows students to get adequate exposure to the field of I/O Psychology and other basic areas of Psychology. In addition, undertaking a course of this kind will enhance the student’s capacity for graduate training in the professional area of I/O Psychology.
Programme Objectives
The course objectives include:
(i) To provide learning opportunities for students in I/O Psychology to:
Acquire a body of knowledge and skills associated with developing I/O Psychology human resources that will enable the students to translate theory into practice.
Develop insights into the contextual and practical issues of I/O Psychology, especially as they relate to developing economies.
Gain a deeper understanding of the theory, assumptions and implications of I/O Psychology especially in the context of the new organisational realities.
(ii) To prepare students who wish to proceed for further their studies in areas such as I/O Psychology, Organisational Behaviour, MBA and other I/O Psychology related areas.
Master Of Organisational Psychology
Duration of Program: 2Years
About this Program
Applicants must posses an honours degree in psychology. Applicants who do not posses an honours degree in psychology must have documentation of one or more years of experience in human resource management, personnel and allied fields such as training and must be ready to undertake compensation courses in psychology on admission.
Master Of Science In Clinical Psycholgy
About this Program
Applicants must have a good first degree in psychology and having done chemistry or biology in the first year of degree study is an added advantage. Preference will however be given to applicants who took papers in human neuropsychology or psychobiology in the second year.
OR:
Applicants who have a degree in ,medicine or other compatible undergraduate psychology courses needed to proceed to postgraduate clinical psychology programme.

I would wish to apply for a MSc in Clinical Psychology. Though I do not have a degree in Psychology, my first degree was in Christian Community Development. If I am not able to do Clinical Psychology, is there any other branch of psychology that you would advise me to pursue?
