Welcome to the AKU Medical College of East Africa. They are on a unique journey – to build for the youth of East Africa a medical college that is at an international standard of quality and provides them the opportunity to get the best education possible within their own community.

These talented youth can stay; they can stay here to train as physicians and they can stay and develop careers here. They can be leaders in their community, contributing to advancing the right to health and quality health care for every citizen of East Africa.

They are at the beginning of a long journey and they are looking for students, faculty, and staff who are committed to the vision. If you are a graduating medical student then consider joining one of our existing residency programmes described on this website. If you know a young person who will be graduating from high school in 2018 or beyond, then tell them to watch this site for the announcement of our undergraduate medicine programme. If you are a practicing clinician then consider joining the Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi or one of the Aga Khan Health Service hospitals in Mombasa, Kisumu or Dar es Salaam and build your practice within a teaching environment, get a clinical teaching appointment and influence the lives of these young people – there is no better reward. If you are already an experienced educator or researcher consider joining us in this journey – we need a broad range of committed academics from outstanding clinicians to basic scientists to social scientists. And if you have operational and administrative experience then you can build the backbone of our success with careers in operations and administration.
