About VUU

The Virtual University of Uganda (VUU) is a private university, fully licenced by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education and recognised by other Higher Education accrediting authorities. It is a member of the Inter-University Council for East Africa and other regional university fora.

As the first entirely online university in the Africa region, we are proud to be part of the vanguard in the technological revolution in university education.

We aim to bring premier learning resources to professionals who wish to obtain a postgraduate qualification without having to take time off work, be away from family, or travel to an outside country.

Currently, we offer programmes in the fields of Public Health, International Development, ICT for Development, Business Administration, and Oil & Gas Management. Other programmes are under development.

Our staff are experienced academics recruited locally, regionally, and internationally.

VUU programmes are accessed through a specialised e-learning platform (Moodle). Our vast Open Access Digital Library is permanently accessible to staff, students, and the general public.
