ANNOUNCEMENT FOR 2023-2024 UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS
Soroti University is the 9th Public University in Uganda, approved by the Parliament of Uganda and Gazetted on 16th July 2015 under Statutory Instrument 2015 No. 34. The University is located in Eastern Uganda, 7km from Soroti Town along Soroti-Moroto road. The strategic mandate of the University is to offer knowledge and carry out research in Medicine, Engineering, Technology, Applied Science, Science Education, Value Addition courses and Entrepreneurship. The University is now recruiting students for the first intake, who will commence their studies on Soroti University Reporting / Opening Date
The Academic Registrar, Soroti University invites applications from Ugandan, East African, and International Applicants for THE BACHELOR OF MEDICINE AND BACHELOR OF SURGERY (MBChB) and BACHELOR OF NURSING SCIENCE (BNS) under:
i.UGANDA GOVERNMENT SPONSORSHIP SCHEME FOR THE 2023-2024 ACADEMIC YEAR
ii.PRIVATE SPONSORSHIP SCHEME FOR THE 2023-2024 ACADEMIC YEAR

1) ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
Admission requirements for each Programme are as specified below:-
BACHELOR OF MEDICINE AND BACHELOR OF SURGERY
A) DIRECT ENTRY
i. Must have passed the Uganda Certificate of Education
(UCE) or its equivalent and obtained at least five (5)
passes.
ii. Must have passed the Uganda Advanced Certificate of
Education (UACE) or its equivalent obtained at the same
sitting with two (2) Principal Passes in Biology and
Chemistry obtained at the same sitting.
iii. Must have done Physics or Mathematics and obtained at
least a subsidiary pass.
iv. Only Candidates who obtained the Uganda Advanced
Certificate of Education (UACE) in 2018, 2017 and 2016
are eligible to apply for Direct Entry.
BACHELOR OF NURSING SCIENCE
A)DIRECT ENTRY
i. Must have passed the Uganda Certificate of Education
(UCE) or its equivalent and obtained at least 5 passes
ii. Must have passed and obtained two (2) principal passes in
Biology and Chemistry at A’ level (UACE) or its equivalent
obtained at the same sitting.
iii. Must have done Physics or Mathematics and obtained at
least a subsidiary pass
iv. Only Candidates who sat A-‘Level in 2018, 2017 and 2016
are eligible to apply for Direct Entry.
i.CANDIDATES WHO OBTAINED GRADES X, Y, Z, 7 AND 9 IN UCE / ‘O’LEVEL SHOULD NOT APPLY BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ADMISSION.
ii.DIPLOMA HOLDER APPLICANTS WHO HOLD CLASS THREE (3) DIPLOMA CERTIFICATES OR PASS DIPLOMAS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ADMISSION AND THEREFORE SHOULD NOT APPLY, EXCEPT WHERE STATED IN THE DIPLOMA HOLDERS REQUIREMENTS.
2). HOW TO APPLY
A)Application is Online for All Applicants. In addition, Diploma/Degree Holders and International applicants will have to submit certified copies of their Transcripts and Certificates and a passport size Photograph to Soroti University contact office Room 608, Senate building Makerere University or Office of the Academic Registrar Soroti University Multi-Purpose Building Level Two Office 7.
B)Other relevant information can be obtained from undergraduate admissions office, level 2 office 7, Multipurpose building, Soroti University or can be downloaded from our website www.sun.ac.ug with effect from Soroti University Reporting / Opening Date.

Non-Refundable Application Fee of UG Shs.50,000/= for Ugandans and East Africans. International Applicants $75 or UG. Shs.280,000/= Plus Bank Charge of UGx 2,750/= should be paid from any branch of the following Banks:

4). SOROTI UNIVERSITY ONLINE APPLICATION PORTAL USER GUIDE
i.Applicants should access the Institution’s Admissions URL http://admissions.sun.ac.ug or Soroti University website at www.sun.ac.ug/admissions
ii.Sign-up using full name, e-mail and Mobile No. Please note that your name must be similar to the one on your supporting academic documents for your application to be considered valid. If you

changed your names please go to Soroti University Multipurpose Building, Office 7 level 2 with an affidavit supporting the name change.
iii.A password will be sent to both your e-mail and mobile number.
iv.The system will prompt you to change the password to the one you can easily remember.
v.To fill a form, click on the APPLY NOW button displayed on the running scheme.
vi.Obtain a payment advice slip by clicking on “Pay for Form” button
vii.Make a payment at any of the above named Banks:

iv.Enter reference number obtained from Application portal

i.Applicants are strongly warned against presenting forged or other people’s academic documents to support their applications.

Is there an option of the university to give one on private automatically in case gorvt didn’t sponser but has good scores and soroti University was his first choice..and also the gorvt list is no where. Please help display
