UNDERGRADUATE APPLICATION

General Entry Requirements

Enrollment for undergraduate programs is open to the following category of applicants:

(a)Direct entry from schools – Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5 passes and at least two principal passes at Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent.

(b)Mature age – aged 25 years and above and has passed the mature age entry examinations with at least a 50% mark from authorised institutions

(c)Diploma – obtained at credit/distinction level in the relevant field from a recognized institution.

(d)Bridging course for students who have done their secondary education outside Uganda. The bridging courses must have been accredited by the National Council.

How to apply

Application forms may be downloaded from our Website: www.mmu.ac.ug or acquired at the Registrar’s Office at Mountains of the Moon University or from any of the University information centres across the country.

The completed application forms, together with Photocopy (hard) copies of result slips and any academic records, Pass port size photograph, must be hand delivered or posted to the Registrar Academic or the institution from where you picked the application form. By post, use the address below

Application fees should be deposited on the University account. The University’s payslips can be found at KCB, UBA, and Centenary and Stanbic banks within Fort Portal. In absence of University Bank slips, use a bank cash deposit slip found in the bank using the following account numbers; Stanbic Bank – 9030005766329, Centenary Bank- 5510400018, KCB Bank – 2200700997, UBA Bank – 0903000576. The account name for all the above accounts is: Mountains of the Moon University. Or pay application fees through money order at any post office or Money-Gram agent closest to you.

Note that an application payment receipt must be submitted along with the completed application forms for your application to be processed. Ugandan applicants pay UGX 30,000/=plus a bank charge. Applicants from other countries pay $20 US Dollars plus a bank charge. No forms shall

be processed without receipt of the application fees.

International Students can pay application fees through International Money Order. This can be done at any Money-Gram agent closest to you or any other convenient way.

NOTE: All Applicants are required to pay a commitment fee of 50,000/= (Fifty thousand Shillings only) to the University Account before picking an admission letter from the office of the Registrar Academics. This commitment fee is part of tuition to be paid at the beginning of the semester. POSTGRADUATE APPLICATION

Mountains of the Moon University General Entry Requirements

The enrollment for Postgraduate Diplomas and Masters Programs will be open to students who are holders of at least a second class degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution in Uganda or any other country.

Application Procedure

1.Hard copies of application forms are obtainable from the Finance Revenue Section at Kabundaire campus in Fort Portal or from any of our information centres across the country after payment of an application fee of Ug.shs 50,000/= (Ugandan applicants) and US. $ 20 dollars (International Applicants) to the University Account in either Centenary, UBA, Stanbic or KCB Bank using Mountains of the Moon University paying-in-bank slips. International Students can pay application fees through International Money Order. This can be done at any Money-Gram agent closest to you or any other convenient way.

3.Completed application forms should be returned to the Office of the Registrar Academic at Kabundaire campus in Fort Portal and must be accompanied by relevant certified copies of certificates and academic transcripts or can be posted through the address below:

Mountains of the Moon University Accommodation for students

Accommodation is available in our hostels at 200,000/= (Two hundred thousand shillings only) for shared rooms and 400,000/= (Four hundred thousand shillings only) for single rooms. All payments are per semester

Mountains of the Moon University Commitment fee

All successful applicants shall be required to pay a commitment fee of Ug. Shs. 200,000/= on the University account before picking an admission letter from the office of the Registrar Academic. This commitment fee is part of the total fees paid in a semester. Payment of the remaining fees is made as follows: 40% by the end of the second week of the semester, 40% before the first set of examinations and 20 % before the final set of examinations. This applies to those who cannot afford to pay all semester fees at one go.
