Proud to be a Nurse:
Four Staff And One Students From The Department of Nursing-must join the rest of the nurses in Uganda to celebrate the 2017 nurses and midwives symposium under the theme “Recognizing the Unsung Heroes of Our Health System”. The purpose of the symposium was to orient midwives and nurses on updated national and global RMNCAH service delivery approaches and innovations implemented by Jhpiego and partners, and to spotlight the exceptional contribution of nurses and midwives to Uganda’s health sector.
The symposium brought together over 100 nurses and midwives drawn from public and private institutions as well as key stakeholders, including health sector experts, donor agencies and select private companies. The event was held on Thursday, 27 April 2017 at the Jhpiego Uganda Office located at Plot 36, Lower Naguru, East Road in Kampala.
For nursing profession, the sky is no longer the limit. We are going to explore the heights.
Everyone is a nurse at some point in his or her life. I am just proud that I am a different nurse. I am a professional.
I like the smiles of the once very ill and helpless patients. I like the feeling that I was part of the healing process. Nursing is satisfying.
The smiles reflecting the joy and happiness from patients and their families after a successful service makes me feel that I have added value to someone’s life. That makes me a very proud nurse.
I am proud to be a nurse because I feel like I know the reason why the health care system is standing strong. Because of the selfless acts carried out by the nurse. I am happy to be part of the team.
