Emergency Obstetric Care

Emergency Obstetric Care (EMOC) targets health care providers to impart skills as an intervention to reduce the maternal morbidity and mortality. In Uganda Maternal mortality rate stands at 438/100000 live births. This translates to 16 women dying every day from pregnancy and child birth related complications. EMOC seeks to address the major direct causes of maternal mortality that include haemorrhage, infection, high blood pressure, unsafe abortion, and obstructed labour.

Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses

This is a well packaged course offered to health care providers. It focuses on the well-being of the whole child using an integrated approach. Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI) aims at reducing death, illness and disability, and to promote improved growth and development among children under five years of age. IMCI includes both preventive and curative elements that are implemented by families, communities and health facilities.

Helping Babies Breathe

Every child needs to live. Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) is a well packaged curriculum of neonatal resuscitation for resource-limited circumstances. This course provides the participants with skills needed to help children who struggle to breathe at birth. HBB saves lives and gives babies the opportunity to have a better start to life by mitigating the effects of failure to breathing at birth. This course is offered to health care providers.
