The Faculty of Science (FOS) was established at the Islamic University in Uganda in the 1994/1995 Academic Year. When IUIU was opened up in 1988, it had only two faculties – Faculty of Islamic Studies and Arabic Language, and Faculty of Education. At the time, Science Department was part of Faculty of Education and it was headed by Dr. L. M. Ogwal. The first Science students were admitted in 1990 under the Rectorship of Al Hajj Abubakar Kakyama Mayanja and Prof. T. Nsereko Gyagenda as the vice rector. When Prof. Adam Mahad, became Rector, he introduced three other faculties of which Faculty of Science was among. The first Dean was Prof. Mkafi, a mathematician from Nigeria.
VISION
In line with the University vision, FOS aims at producing and disseminating scientific knowledge, relevant skills and training necessary to producing all round science professionals who shall be of great value to the current and future needs of the society.
MISSION
The faculty functions as a component of the University in a bid to attain its vision; mission and core values by creating a scientific and Islamic impact on society. This can be achieved by using scientific methods in teaching and innovation that is acceptable and relevant to the academic global environment and Islam.

There are no cut off points and relevant and essential subjects for the different courses which makes choosing courses difficult
I would like join but I do MTC/PE in primary Education .
